GOODNIGHT STORIES FOR REBEL GIRLS

We first came across the Rebel Girls brand when selecting to stock their Postcard Set. What we now know is that they are a full-blown, global empowerment brand dedicated to inspiring the next generation of girls to be confident and go after their dreams.

Included in the amazing content they create is their Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls podcast. Each episode spotlights real-life extraordinary women from all over the world. From iconic athletes and brilliant inventors to visionary artists and bold activists. Rebel Girls believes that when girls see what’s possible, they become unstoppable. A great listen (not just for girls!) and the perfect bite-sized length of 10-20 minutes per episode.

Get this in/out of your head!

You can't beat this catchy tune when it comes to teaching boundaries to your little ones. If you're not knee-slappin' by the second round of the chorus...

JACK THE STORY MAN

Sydney-based primary school teacher Jack Stephens draws from his childhood to bring us this collection of stories that captivate every time. Not only is he a great storyteller, but the voices and little details he includes really keep kids interested and wanting to listen again and again.

Jack shares how he has been telling stories for many years to his school students and finally decided to record them as a podcast. He makes time for shout-outs at the start of each episode and in some, he reads existing books aloud - including the all-time classic 'Where the Wild Things Are'. My four year old has never been so quiet while listening to Jack, so he obviously meets all the requirements for our recs list. Listen on Apple Podcasts or Spotify

KOALA MOON BEDTIME STORIES

Oh Hello Sweet Slumber...

With soothing classical music and slow, low-toned vocals over the top from the clever Abbe Opher, these bedtime stories will send your little one (and you!) straight to sleep. Failing that, they'll at least provide a somewhat ASMR-like experience to chill out the old nervous system while you're trying to get them to nod off. The stories follow quirky little animal characters on all sorts of adventures, with lots of imagination and magic sprinkled in. Each episode repeats the same story twice, both for extra length and familiarity.

Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or watch on YouTube - the videos show static images of each scene with narration over the top, so it feels less stimulating than a standard animation.

Keep an eye out for more recs coming soon.
